A Relaxing Afternoon of Walking, Tea & Sharing at Swan Lake

August 16, 2026

What a wonderful afternoon it was! On August 16, 2026, 35 alumni and guests gathered at the beautiful Swan Lake Village Garden Clubhouse for an afternoon filled with friendship, good food, interesting conversations, and valuable sharing.

The afternoon began at 2:00 p.m. with a leisurely 30-minute walk around the scenic Swan Lake community, led by our host, Daniel Wong (1978 UC Marketing). It was a great way to stretch our legs, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and catch up with old friends before settling down for afternoon tea.

At 3:00 p.m., it was time to relax and enjoy a delicious spread of fresh fruit, pastries, cakes, coffee, tea, and juice. The clubhouse quickly filled with laughter and lively conversations as alumni and guests enjoyed each other's company.

The afternoon also featured two very interesting and practical talks.

Our special guest, Raymond Lo, owner of IC Landscape, shared his personal experience of starting and running a new business in Toronto. His candid sharing provided valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of becoming a business owner.

Following Raymond's presentation, Daniel Wong gave an informative talk on tax considerations for new businesses, covering some of the important tax issues that new entrepreneurs should be aware of when starting a business in Ontario.

More than just an afternoon tea, the event provided a wonderful opportunity for our alumni to connect, learn, and share experiences in a relaxed and friendly environment.

A big thank-you to Daniel Wong for hosting and organizing the afternoon, to Raymond Lo for sharing his valuable business experience, and to all 35 alumni and guests who joined us and helped make the event such a memorable one.

We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next UCCUAAO gathering!
